Welcome back 2009 Volunteers!Laden with more bilums (gifted handmade bags) than they could pack and fighting kulau (coconut milk) addictions, Panango's second team of volunteers returned to the US in September, 2009 after a successful summer teaching on Karkar Island, PNG. The 15 volunteers taught in primary schools and a secondary school on both the the northern "Waskia" and southern "Takia" side of the island and lived with host families in local villages. Before and after tests of student's English ability showed great improvement! Welcom bak, na tank yupela true! |
