Panango strives to encourage positive and sustainable development in Papua New Guinea through English education and cultural exchange.
More specifically, our goal is to send passionate, prepared volunteers to Papua New Guinea to teach 6th, 7th, or 8th grade English (and sometimes science and math) for a 10 week summer semester, while living with host families in local villages. For the students, we hope engaging with native English speakers helps them become fluent and continue with their education. For the volunteers, we hope that learning about another culture and the struggles and successes of a developing nation from a local perspective will inform their own lives and careers. For everyone, the friendships formed are invaluable.
